If the alerts you receive when your Roost app are too loud, you can adjust these settings. How you do this varies by phone. Please note that when you adjust the volume of your notifications, you are doing this not just for the Roost app specifically, but for all notifications you receive on your phone.
On an iPhone
On an iPhone you can adjust the Ringer and Alert volume with the volume up/down button on the side of your phone if you have enabled this feature. If you have not turned on the "Change with Buttons" setting, or do not know if you've done this, please continue.
Step 1: Tap "Settings" (the grey box that looks like gears on a bicycle). On this iPhone screen the Settings icon is in the lower right-hand corner.
Step 2: After you tap Settings, scroll down until you see the speaker icon and the word "Sounds." Tap Sounds.
Step 3: After you tap Sounds, you will see the screen below. Under "Ringer and Alerts" slide the white dot to the left to lower the volume of the ringer and alerts from your iPhone. Slide the volume level to the right to increase the volume. Please note that this phone shows the "Change with Buttons" setting on, so the the user can raise and lower the volume of the ringer and alerts with the buttons on the side of the phone.
On an Android phone
We've provided some general directions for an Android phone. Your actual screens may differ slightly based upon your phone manufacturer and version of Android. These screens are from a Samsung Galaxy S4, running Android version 4.4.2.
Step 1: Tap the "Settings" (gear icon) at the top of your Android phone. Then tap "My Device." In the My Device screen (below), tap "Sound."
Step 2: After you tap Sound on your Android phone, you will see the screen below for controlling the sounds your phone makes.
Step 3: Tap "Volume," and you'll see the screen below. You can lower the sound level associated with notifications on your Android phone by sliding the white dot to the left. This will cause the volume of alerts from your Roost app to be lower.
