SmartBase

Primarily, your SmartBase acts as the central hub for your sensors and your Security360 Service. It will relay detections from the sensors to you and to the 24/7 Professional Monitoring Services in the event of an emergency.

Place your SmartBase in a central location within your home, such as the kitchen, entry way, an office, or living room area. Making sure that you are able to see and hear the important visual and auditory cues from the SmartBase regarding the status of your sensors.

Keypad

The Keypad is used to Arm and Disarm your Security360 System. Using the Roost360 App or via the entry of a PIN code on the system itself. See the App Guide for More Information.

Mount your keypad on the wall or simply place on a convenient surface near your most commonly used door that you utilize for entry and exit to your home. If mounted, first position the included mounting plate that attaches by double sided tape or the two screws. The keypad will lock into the mounting plate by snapping down once in position.
To test: Arm and Disarm the System. The SmartBase should turn to Red, and the Keypad will audibly verify status. This can also be tested via the Roost 360 App.

Motion Sensor

The Motion Sensor's primary function, of course, is to detect motion. It should therefore be installed on a wall approximately 6-8 feet from the ground, using the included mounting plate, along with the double-sided tape or mounting screws.

The sensor will detect motion anywhere from 6 to 18 feet away, in 45° arc to the left and right. If motion is detected, the sensor will blink red. There is a delay period of 2 minutes before motion will be detected again. If the system is Armed, motion will trigger the Entry Delay Beeps from your SmartBase, and if the system is not Disarmed within the entry delay, it will be escalated to 24/7 Professional Monitoring.

Take care not to install the sensor near any heating or AC vents, facing exterior windows, or places where you pets may regularly perch, as these may set off the detector.
To test: While System is Disarmed, wave your hand in front of the motion sensor. You should see a red light blink to indicate it is functioning properly.

Entry Sensors

Each Entry Sensor has two components, a large piece and a smaller piece that connect with a magnet. When these pieces are separated, they alert with the "Door Open" Chime sound from your SmartBase.

If the larger component is installed on a door, then the smaller piece should be installed on the door frame, such that the grey lines on both pieces are aligned and the gap between each sensor is no more than 5/8" (15mm).

Likewise, if you are installing the Sensor on a window or glass door, place the larger component the window pane, lining up the smaller component on the window frame.
To test: While System is Disarmed, open door or window and verify the Chime response is heard from the SmartBase.

For homes with raised frames on doors or windows, use a few pieces of the included adhesive foam to help position the smaller component in line with the larger one.

Water Leak/Temperature Sensors

The Leak Sensors primary detect moisture, but they can also alert for hot (105°F) or cold (40°F) temperatures. With this in mind, place these sensors in an area where water could potentially accumulate - under the sink, water heaters, sump pumps, washing machines. They can also be placed near HVAC equipment or pipes on an outside wall, for heat or freeze detection.

These sensors are quite sensitive, so bear in mind that an overly humid environment may not be suitable for them.
To test: Using a damp cloth or paper towel, lightly press against the metal rings on the sensor to verify moisture detection.

Alarm Listener

Your Alarm Listener functions to alert you to the sound of your smoke detectors going off, and therefore to a potential fire in your home. Install the device within 6" of a centrally-located residential style smoke detector. Avoid installing the sensor in an area with repeated loud noises. Likewise it is important to note that your smoke detector must make a T3 style noise to be compatible with this device.
To test: Press and Hold the test function on your associated Smoke Detector for 30 seconds, up to a minute, until you receive a verification text message.
